Hi all. Sorry I’ve been off the grid for the past few days, but that’s what happens when you want to spend Christmas with your family and not think about all the things you do the rest of the year.
Well, since it is still Christmas day, at least here in California. I thought I’d share a few of the fun Christmas pictures I’ve been seeing recently before they all go back into storage for another year.
One that I some how missed was this awesome advent nativity calendar

Apparently we don’t know the whole story of Santa and his elves…

Here’s a fun little Christmas house

Something that is either a table center display or a festive UFO ![]()

And cuteness!

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays from me to you!
The pictures were impressive, but didn’t really highlight the shear size of this model. This new video released by LEGO gives you a much better perspective on how really massive this model is.
My jaw literally dropped when I saw this and all I could say was “WOW!”

It took a team of 12 model shop employees 3,000 hours to build this life size model of the LEGO Bag End set. In addition to containing over 2 million 1×1 bricks this model has working lights in the fireplace and over the bookstand as well as a chimney that really smokes!

The people in the picture give you a hint on the shear scale of this model.

Words fail me with this model, its simply awesome! You can find more pictures of this model at LEGO Shop’s Facebook page
Okay, maybe we can’t do this in the real world, but in the LEGO world anything can be built from anything else.
Larry Lars has created what has to be the smallest Batman Tumbler I’ve ever seen. Its simply brilliant in its design. All 12 parts of it!
He’s even been kind enough to provide instructions for those of us who desire their own tiny tumbler

Starwars.lego.com has launched a preview of the Yoda Chronicles. Not sure what exactly this will be. A show? A series? A video game? Okay, probably not the last one, but you never know.
I know I just posted Kristi “McWii’s” snowman but I couldn’t help but post this as well.
I love this version of Charlie Brown’s tree
The red ornament and the spindly branches are perfect. Although I do have to wonder how many minifigs had to sacrifice their arms or hands for this project. I guess scrifices must be made for LEGO Art.

The rumors can be put to rest, its now official. The LEGO Lone Ranger sets will be tied to the new Disney Long Ranger movie that is coming out July 2013.
Its sad, but at the Creation Nation Event we had here in San Diego a few months ago, we were talking about the then rumored Lone Ranger sets and a 10 year old (or so) kid asked what the Lone Ranger was — I feel old when I hear things like that.
On one hand, I’m interested in seeing this movie, even if Johnny Depp (who I do like, don’t get me wrong) as Tonto kind of rubs me the wrong way. But on the other I doubt this movie will live up to the classic series I remember seeing reruns of when I was a kid — no, I’m not old enough to remember when they were originally on TV, so at least I’m not that old.
Either way, we (the LEGO fans) finally get the Western theme we’ve been asking for for years. I have all the original Western sets that came out in 96′ and 97′ so regardless of how the movie does, I look forward to seeing what’s in these new sets. The picture shows us a few new elements — Tonto’s ax, a long horn skull, a new revolver, and what looks like a black crow on Tonto’s head (although that may be part of the hair piece). On BrickSet you can see the set names, although no set images have shown up yet.
These sets, along with all the other fun new stuff (Galaxy Squad, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Creator, etc) that is starting to pop in stores now or just around the corner for 2013 are getting me excited for the upcoming year.
