Starting now, since its already past midnight in the East Coast, you can get a special Hulk Minifig with any $50 purchase (in the US) on LEGO.com. According to BrickSet this offer is also available in the UK for a £50 purchase. I don’t know if this offer is available in other countries, so you might have to check out your country to see if it is available.
The offer starts May 16th thru the 31st or until supplies last. It will be available both online and at particpating LEGO Brand Retail Stores.

Although I like the larger Hulk that is available in the Helicarrier Breakout set I am rather fond of this Lou Ferrigno esque version as I actually remember the old TV show , and yes, I know I’m showing my age.

Recently I’ve been making a lot of Christmas ornaments to sell on my Etsy Shop Folded Fancy. I created this Miniland scale Ballerina Christmas Ornament last night. It is based off of a ballerina I designed while still working at LEGOLAND as one of 30 or so Halloween Miniland costumes I created when we updated Miniland for Brick or Treat in 2003 (you can see her behind the fairy, one of my other creations).

Now of course, with her feet being the tooth element this ballerina could never stand in Miniland. But, as a Christmas ornament, she doesn’t need to.

While my brothers were building Venom and The Incredible Hulk I was also building some iconic comic book characters.
My first of several is Wonder Woman. I distinctly remember watching the tv show reruns when I was a very little girl.

Creating something so recognizable can be a challenge. Its all the little details of color and element choices to get it just right that can be tricky. The only thing non-LEGO is her Lasso of Truth which is made of pearl cotton thread.
I will be bringing her along with several other superheros to BrickWorld.

While my brother Mike was creating the Incredible Hulk, our younger brother Matt created Venom capturing Spiderman.

Now normally I don’t feature such dark models on my blog, I try to keep it as family friendly as possible. This is a special case however, as this was made by family during a family weekend.

As you can see, Matt has his own style. Its a lot more organic. He is actually better at LEGO model building than me, at least when it comes to thinking “outside the box.” For a few months he even worked with me in the Model Shop at LEGOLAND California.
The only problem with Venom is that it is very fragile. He warned me to be really careful, because if you look at it wrong it falls apart.

You can see a few more pictures of this on my Flickr Photostream.

Hi everyone, sorry for the small hiatus. But as it was Memorial Day weekend, at least here in America, I was spending time with my brothers and sister who were visiting.
Along with the standard barbecue and movie watching one of the things we did was build with LEGO. What many people might not know is that I am not the only LEGO Master Model Builder in the family. In fact, my little brother Matt even worked with me at the LEGOLAND Model Shop for a short time.
Both of my brothers are accomplished professional artists in various fields, and we all played with LEGO when we were kids, I took my brothers’ LEGO once they “grew out” of LEGO.
So what does this have to do with the Incredible Hulk? Well I will show you –

This Miniland scale model was created by my brother Mike. Both of my brothers are more organic LEGO builders than me. In some ways I still feel that I am not as accomplished in certain aspects of LEGO building compared to them, my little brother Matt has been building rings around me for years.

The only modified thing on this model is the white vinyl sticker for Hulk’s teeth.

Although I love my brothers dearly they do have a tenancy to take over my LEGO room and make a mess of all my organized bricks.
You can see more of the Hulk pictures on my Flickr photostream.
