2013 Holiday Sets

Well it may have barely turned September, but Christmas is coming early. Okay, not really, but these are the two limited edition Holiday sets that will be available this year at LEGO Brand Retail Stores and Shop at Home online (only in the contries with LEGO Stores).

The first one will be available October 14-31st with purchase of $99. The second one will be available Brick Friday (Black Friday) weekend with purchase of $99.

One good thing is that October is double VIP points month, so every dollar you spend is worth twice as much. šŸ™‚

I’m not as excited for this year’s sets as much as last year’s set. But if you want to complete your LEGO Winter Village, then this is a must have. šŸ˜‰

I’m not aware that last year’s Holiday set is officially part of the Winter Village series, but I also can’t imagine that it was not intended to be the LEGO equivalent of the accessory packs that are typically sold to fill in the gaps of the various traditional Christmas village.

Anyways, this looks to be another two-parter like the living room scene from two years ago, with the first half being a Christmas tree seller and the second half being the delivery truck. Do Christmas tree lots ever have dedicated delivery trucks? Neither my parents nor any of my grandparents have ever had a live tree for as long as I can remember, so I must confess that my sole experience with this part of the holiday season comes from watching A Christmas Story, where they use twine to tie the tree to the top of the family car instead.
