Chibi X-Wing Gundam 1

October 21, 2013

Kevin Ryhal has created this adorable Chibi version of his X-Wing Gundam.

I’m not all that into mechas, but this one is too cute not to share. 😀

TravisBot

Sometimes all you need is a handful of bricks…

TravisBot helps me sort

This TravisBot by Matt De Lanoy is so adorable I just want to cuddle him! Okay not really, he’s only about an inch tall. But he really is cute! 😀

I thought Matt had designed him, but he corrected me, the first one was made by Simon Liu

There’s even an evolution game on Flickr which I just might want to contribute to. 😉

Update:I did make my own — Dizzy Travis bot

He’s dizzy because I didn’t have the googly eyes, but I did have the ninjago decorated tiles 😀

No Chat For Charity

October 19, 2013

As many of you probably know, either from my long blog posts or from actually meeting me in person, I like to talk — a lot!

Well, yesterday Paul Lee and I were talking about Nannan’s Creation for Charity and the new Chat for Charity option that several of our fellow LUGOLA members are part of. But since getting me to talk about anything — LEGO, moives, whatever — isn’t all that special we thought up something a little more unique…

NO CHAT for Charity

In Paul’s awesome drawing description —

In the spirit of giving, our favorite loquacious, former Master Model Builder, Mariann Asanuma (model gal), has graciously donated a unique item to the Creations for Charity Store. As many of you know, Mariann likes to talk. Boy, does she like to talk. For a measly sum of $20, you can buy 30 minutes of not talking with Mariann!

You can not talk about anything you want! You can not talk about the building process, sorting strategies, model inspirations, her time as a Master Model Builder, or anything else you can think of. The point is sometimes a half hour of silence is golden, and you’ll be helping some needy kids get some life changing brick!

Its now on the Creations for Charity Store 😉

And be sure to check out all the other awesome creations that are already there. More are constantly being added and if you would like to contribute, go to the Creations For Charity website.

Viking Fortress

October 16, 2013

Okay, I realize I’ve been MIA (missing in action) for a couple weeks. My trip to BrickCon was great, but as I chose to drive this time — and bring my mom so it could also be a mother/daughter road trip — it took a lot longer (13 days total) than it normally does for me to get back. And if you’re wondering, I drove over 2,800 miles.

So I’m finally getting back to normal. BrickCon is my last LEGO Con of the year, I still may go to one more convention, but its up in LA not too far out of town for me.

Anyhow, onto this clever little build —

And it really is a little build. It took me a moment to realize just how small. I love the cracks in the ice and the tiny viking 🙂

Its simply adorable!

BrickCon Giveaway

October 5, 2013

Hi all! I’m having tons of fun a BrickCon. So much so that I haven’t had time to post anything. I haven’t even uploaded any pics yet except one rather fuzzy one on Facebook. I will be writing a post, all about my BrickCon experience later, but in the mean time, since I know how much everyone likes to get free stuff, I’m doing giveaway in honor of BrickCon. 🙂

I’m giving away one of my custom models. This is a glued model, but his arms and legs can bend and his head isn’t glued on so that you position it whichever way you like 😉

As always there will be three ways to enter:
1)Comment on this post
2)Like my Facebook Page, and then Like, Share, and Comment on my link about this post
3)Follow me on Twitter @MariannAsanuma and reply to my tweet about this post with the #ConGiveaway

Yes, you can enter once all three ways. I will leave the giveaway open till midnight October 12th (pacific standard time). This will be international, so as long as I can mail this to you, I will.

Have fun and good luck!
