Snowstrike 3000

by

Okay so I’ve not touched this blog in a looooooonnnnngggg time, but we’ll see if I can improve on that this year.

As most of us are fighting winter snows (okay in my case El Nino rains) I figured I’d share a creation I did as a building challenge last year.

If you’re in a LEGO LUG, many of us were offered the Winter Skating Scene sets in bulk to do pretty much whatever we wanted with them as long as we shared the pictures with LEGO.

The set was offered originally as a promo for Christmas and looks like this

So at BrickFair Virginia last year Beyond the Brick had a building challenge. They gave us all 3 sets of the Winter Skating Scene and asked us to build something in an hour. Now most people built winter scenes, but I built the Snowstrike 3000 😉

This second pic isn’t the greatest, but you can see what it looks like from the side

This was a fun little challenge and I forced myself to build out of my comfort zone by putting wings at delicate angles. The whole build pretty much fell apart when I put it in my luggage to go home. It was a lot of fun and allowed me to stretch my building muscles.

Did your lug get a bunch of these? What did you end up doing with it?

Looks excellent! The only thing missing is a snowball shooter! 😀

we got a lot, but we ended up having speedbuilds and the winner could take a set home!

We got a ton of these and took them to Brick Fiesta and did a collaborative build. This is the last shot of ‘building’, with more shots of the finished product following: https://www.flickr.com/photos/98594996@N06/20027218260/in/pool-brickfiesta/
