Dynaway Sorting Plant

January 20, 2012

I know I could certainly use one of these.

I’m not a Mindstorms person, but I love seeing what other people can make with them. BrickIt has created a Brick Sorting Plant. It only works for 2×4 and 1×2 bricks, but it does sort them in both size a color.

It’s build for a company called Dynaway (www.dynaway.com). They use this model to demonstrate their manufacturing execution system. The model is designed to fit inside one large flightcase, for easy transport. The model is the second model we’ve build for Dynaway.

I’d love a sorting machine, only mine would need to be much bigger and sort every LEGO element in every color. Hey, one can dream right? 😀

2×4 LEGO Brick Boxes

April 25, 2010

Mel Caddick has created simple yet elegant giant LEGO bricks. As is they look pretty good, but the fact that they open makes them even better. 🙂

Although “new” on Flickr she is not new to LEGO, being as she works for the company. 😀

Not all 2×4’s are Square

July 20, 2009

Okay, although 2×4’s are technically rectangles, that just didn’t sound as good as a title. 😉

Presenting the Thunderbird 2 made entirely of 2×4 LEGO bricks.

Built entirely from 2×4 bricks (rories) during the NSC event by Brickish Members Bricks For Brains, LegoMonster and OptimalControl

This shows what you can do even if you only have (a lot of) one type of brick. Considering its size and overall round shape, I have to say I’m impressed. 🙂
