Its my Birthday, so I’m doing a Giveaway!

Hi all, I know I’ve been missing in action for the past many, many days. But I’ve been quite busy working on a model for Carbine Studios and NCSoft — that will be covered in a separate post ๐Ÿ˜‰ — so now that I’ve finally got a little bit of a breather, I can finally post again. Yay!!! ๐Ÿ˜€

And today is a special day for me — It’s my Birthday!!!!!!

But I love sharing the birthday goodness so I’m doing a giveaway.

LEGO Birthday Party

April 25, 2013

Wow, sorry for no posts, I’ve been in a non-posting mood.

Well any how, since it was my birthday yesterday I thought this video was rather relevant.

Happy Birthday LEGO!!!

August 1, 2012

Via Brickset
Did you know its the 80th anniversary of LEGO! I did, I was still working at LEGOLAND for both their 70th and their 75th Birthday so I’ve been keeping track. ๐Ÿ˜‰

So to commemorate this momentous birthday you can get this awesome slice of cake set from LEGO.com or at your local LEGO store with any purchase of $50 (not all that hard to do). From what I understand this is only in the US and Canada.

Also there is an awesome contest running through this month to promote the LEGO VIP Program

Click on the picture for more details.

If you are already a VIP member, then you’ve already been automatically entered. If you are not, then join. Its a great program and since we already buy LEGO, you might as well get points for it. ๐Ÿ˜€

A trip to any LEGOLAND in the world is nothing to sneeze at! And I know which park I’d like to go to — Denmark! Where would you go?

Tiny Taj

February 8, 2011

Recently I was asked to make a birthday cake topper. It was for a LEGO fan and his wife asked me what I could make. I told her I could create him building and she said that sounded great. He just happened to be building the LEGO Taj Mahal model at the same time so she asked if I could make him building with white bricks. I figured I could do something even better:

Guy building Taj Mahal 1

I want to say it was a challenge, but in actuality, once I thought about it, it came together rather quickly. The inspiration was the cheese slopes. I can not tell you how much I love that element!!! It was the only way to create the eight sided building at that tiny of a scale.

I was even happier when I realized that it was almost exactly to scale with the Miniland figure. The real Taj Mahal model really is about that size to a person. Hopefully he had a wonderful birthday (it was yesterday) and loved his totally unique birthday present. ๐Ÿ™‚

The Minifig turns 30!

August 25, 2008

On Lugnet yesterday it was announced that the LEGO Minifigure turns 30 today. Being just a little bit older, I can’t remember a time before Minifigures. In fact one of the first sets that I remember having is the LEGO Homemaker Kitchen which had one of the very first Minifigs, a girl with black pigtails.

Minifigs, in all their countless varieties, are one of the best things that LEGO ever invented. They make a model or scene that much better. And maybe its just that they are so darn cute! (Even the “bad guys”) Who doesn’t love to have a Minifig version of Han Solo or Batman? Spiderman and Sponge Bob are forever immortalized in LEGO. Heck, you can even make yourself!

Who knew that they have been around for three decades!

So thank you LEGO for creating Minifigures. ๐Ÿ˜‰
