No Chat For Charity

October 19, 2013

As many of you probably know, either from my long blog posts or from actually meeting me in person, I like to talk — a lot!

Well, yesterday Paul Lee and I were talking about Nannan’s Creation for Charity and the new Chat for Charity option that several of our fellow LUGOLA members are part of. But since getting me to talk about anything — LEGO, moives, whatever — isn’t all that special we thought up something a little more unique…

NO CHAT for Charity

In Paul’s awesome drawing description —

In the spirit of giving, our favorite loquacious, former Master Model Builder, Mariann Asanuma (model gal), has graciously donated a unique item to the Creations for Charity Store. As many of you know, Mariann likes to talk. Boy, does she like to talk. For a measly sum of $20, you can buy 30 minutes of not talking with Mariann!

You can not talk about anything you want! You can not talk about the building process, sorting strategies, model inspirations, her time as a Master Model Builder, or anything else you can think of. The point is sometimes a half hour of silence is golden, and you’ll be helping some needy kids get some life changing brick!

Its now on the Creations for Charity Store πŸ˜‰

And be sure to check out all the other awesome creations that are already there. More are constantly being added and if you would like to contribute, go to the Creations For Charity website.

Bricks Helping Japan

March 28, 2011

Seeing the devastation in Japan many of us want to help in our own unique LEGO way. Brothers Brick is helping us just that by creating an auction we can all get involved in — either by donating a model, by purchasing a model for sale, or by donation money to the cause.

You can go to Creations for Charity to read all the details on submitting a MOC.

Japan is near and dear to my heart as my father is Japanese and from the Osaka area. It tears at my heart to see what is happening and my prayers go out to those who have been affected.

Creations for Charity 2010 - Marine Toys for Tots Teddy Bear

Although this was blogged on Brothers Brick it was too cute not to make a mention of it here. Albert U created this adorable Toys for Tots Teddy Bear for Nannan’s Creations for Charity donation drive.

The bricks alone are worth over $200 and uses many rare parts including the dark blue elements, the gold round 1×1 plates, and the tan cheese slopes. You can order this and many other one of a kind sculptures on Nannan’s Bricklink store. Its all for charity, so I’d highly recommend checking it out. πŸ™‚

Creations for Charity 2010

November 4, 2010

Announcing Creations for Charity 2010!

Well, Nannan of Brothers Brick has started it again. His second annual Creations for Charity is already underway.

From now until early December, you can buy a custom Lego creation made by Lego fans from around the world. All proceeds will be used to give Lego sets to underprivileged children during the holidays. This is an annual opportunity where Lego enthusiasts use their creative hobby to support a great cause. As buyers, you can own the original creations from a diverse array of builders and customizers, several of whom are among the best at what they do.

We accept creations for the fundraiser until December 1st. We also accept monetary donations at the store. For either form of donation over $50, you will receive an engraved Creations for Charity 2010 keychain assembled and glued by LEGO Certified Professional Sean Kenney and topped with a real gold-plated Lego brick from ChromeBricks. I sincerely hope you’ll take part in this event and help us set a new record. You make a lot of kids happy. Merry Christmas!
