LEGO Orchid

My fellow LUGOLA member Tim Inman is usually known for his car or minifig scale building models. So when I saw this, I just had to post it.

I love how he took the purple minifig cape (okay, lots of minifig capes πŸ˜‰ ) and turned them into flowers.

He’s not the first person to do this, but I think its the first orchids I’ve seen done like this. I think what really makes it for me is how the stem bends and the technic ties to the “wooden” pole.

I’m a little late on this. I’ve seen several LEGO flowers in my time, but Chris Wunz challenges the conventional building with this amazing rose that he made for his wife for their first Valentine’s together. I just love the simple elegance that is achieved using a few arches and I’m still trying to figure out exactly how he did this. πŸ˜€
