Series 6 and 7 Collectible Minifigs

October 16, 2011

The pictures have already been circulating the internet, but up until now I’ve been too busy to post them.

A toy website has jumped the gun a little bit by revealing a picture of not only the Series 6 Collectible Minifigures, but also the Series 7.

Series 6

Series 7

I have to admit, I’d seen Series 6 already, but not this particular image. I had already been drooling over those minifigs coming out before I saw Series 7.

There is almost too many cool figs and new elements for me to talk about without going into a long list of awesomeness. ๐Ÿ˜€

Okay, that may be a little cheesy, but there really are so many wonderful new parts coming out! It may be a bit painful to the wallet, but I’m sure I’ll be getting a full set of each and probably multiples of quite a few. ๐Ÿ˜‰

This may not really be a model, but this cute little comic by designholic* sure is fun. ๐Ÿ™‚

LEGO Collectible Minifigures Series 4

December 6, 2010

Although Series 3 has just hit the shelves and Series 2 is still readily available, there is already buzz about Series 4 which is scheduled to come out in March or April of 2011.

8804 Minifigures Series 4

I wasn’t as excited about Series 3, but now that I have gotten a full set, I really like them. ๐Ÿ™‚

The figures are as follows (not official names):

Skateboarder
Hockey Player
Bio Hazard Suit Guy
Musketeer
Punk Rocker
Frankenstein Monster
Artist
Surfer Girl
Garden Gnome
Geisha (Kimono Girl)
Werewolf
Navy Sailor
Viking
Mad Scientist
Football (Soccer) Player
Ice Skater

Just by looking at the pictures of Series 4 I know that I am going to want multiples of several figures and the new elements are amazing! I love the ice skates, the erlenmeyer flask, the silver trophy, fan, mo-hawk . . . well you get the idea. ๐Ÿ˜‰

8804 Minifigures Series 4

Its really hard to even say one that I don’t like in this set, maybe the skateboarder but even he has a new torso print. Some are saying this is the best series so far and I’d have to agree with them.

MiniFig Presentation by Hillel at BrickCon 2010

October 18, 2010

As if they posted it just for me, Hillel Cooperman’s Presentation from BrickCon 2010 has now been posted on Youtube. It is just as funny watching it a second time.

Warning — for all those parents out there, there is some language in this video.

Hopefully the people of LEGO are listening to this, I know there was at least one LEGO VP in the audience at BrickCon. It would be awesome if some of Hillel’s ideas (which mirror a great many of my own) are implemented in future LEGO sets.

Nicole Snyder, of Dynamic Video Creations, did a wonderful job filming this and running all the audio and visual aspects of BrickCon this year.

LEGO 2010 Christmas Advent Callendar

May 15, 2010

Its a little early to be thinking about Christmas, I mean it is May after all. But all the same, on Eurobricks they’ve posted pictures of both 2010 Christmas Advent Callendars.

There is also an additional image in the Eurobricks forum that shows you exactly what the mini sets are in each set, but I will leave it up to you to decide if you want to look at it or not. ๐Ÿ˜‰

No official word on if the Castle one will actually be available here in the States. I know that the AFOLs (Adult Fans of LEGO) here in America have been pretty vocal on the fact that we want both advent calendars. I have however, heard rumors that this one will be available. We will just have to wait and see on that fact.

Another important set release that is much closer is that of the LEGO Collectible Minifigures. They are set to be available June 21st in the US according to the June LEGO Store Calendar PDF. I really am looking forward to them, as I’m sure you’ve guessed by now. ๐Ÿ˜€

LEGO’s Collectable Minifigs Homepage

April 28, 2010

LEGO.com has a new section all about everyone’s favorite new Minifigures. Not only do we get to see what each one looks like, we also get to know the official names of all the figures (like we couldn’t figure out most of them ourselves).

Collect all 16 unique LEGO minifigures!

Each minifigure comes in a sealed โ€œmysteryโ€ bag, so you never know which minifigure you might get. And each minifigure has its own special accessories, display plate and collectorโ€™s leaflet. Inspired by movies, sports, history and just everyday life, this collection includes: Demolition Dummy, Forestman, Cowboy, Super Wrestler, Zombie, Ninja, Cheerleader, Skater, Tribal Hunter, Circus Clown, Magician, Deep Sea Diver, Robot, Nurse, Caveman, and Spaceman.

The most interesting name of the 16 is “Tribal Hunter”, I guess they didn’t want to offend any one. ๐Ÿ˜€

Not only can you find out each figure’s name, but you can also read a bio about each figure. Some of them are actually pretty funny.

โ€œLike a shadow in the night, I โ€“ oops!โ€

Stealthy. Sneaky. A cunning master of martial arts. None of these things describes the Ninja, although he sure wishes they did. He tries his best to dramatically blend into the shadows or hide in plain sight like all the other ninjas can, but no matter what he does, he always seems to mess things up. The truth is that heโ€™s just plain clumsy, and no matter how gracefully he may start a back-flip, creep along the rafters or launch himself into an epic sword battle, healways manages to trip over his own feet, fall off the ceiling, or bonk himself on the head with his ancient and mystical blade. Also, heโ€™s afraid of the dark.

No one is quite sure how the Ninja ever managed to graduate from ninja school. But no matter how bad he may be at his chosen profession, he always keeps trying and never gives up, convinced after each blunder that the next time, he will prove himself a true ninja warrior for the ages.

First Review of the new Collectable Minifigs

March 13, 2010

I don’t exactly know how, but CopMike of Eurobricks.com has already gotten his hands on one of the new Collectable Minifigs. He claims that it “came through a wormhole using a shortcut in spacetime.” ๐Ÿ˜›

He was hoping for a Cheerleader, but he got the new Spaceman instead.

The nice thing with this review is that it clears up a debate some people had about what actually comes inside a bag. Some people thought that the bag might have random parts from the random Minifigs. As for myself, I didn’t think so. Its bad enough that you don’t know which figure you’re going to get. If you just got say the legs of a Ninja, the pom poms of the Cheerleader, the torso of the Clown and the head of a Zombie that would be far worse. Plus it doesn’t really make sense packaging wise.

Another interesting thing is that the “laser” from the space gun is shorter than a lightsaber blade! ๐Ÿ˜€

You can check out the full review on Eurobricks.com

The more I see of these, the more I want an entire case or so. ๐Ÿ˜€ They aren’t set to be available till June, but I have a feeling they will crop up earlier if you keep a look out for the. ๐Ÿ˜‰
