2012 LEGO Model Review

2012 Model Review

Happy New Year Everyone! As I reflect on this past year of 2012 I decided to make a compilation of all the models I created this year. To be totally honest, this isn’t all of them. I made over 30 wedding cake toppers and literally hundreds of earrings, necklaces and key chains. But this gives you a pretty good idea.

This has been a whirlwind of a year. I went to ten Conventions this year — five LEGO Conventions, three Comic Conventions, the McDonald’s Worldwide Convention and Focus 12 Convention. I had six large project (even if one of them was microscale) — 3 ft x 3 ft Statoil logo mosaic, 4 ft long McDonald’s building, a giant Harting Connector (the big black thing on the left), a 2 1/2 ft microscale replica of a home, 4 ft x 2 ft John Hancock logo and 10 giant bricks, and a 5 ft x 5 ft Google Chrome logo. I flew to Portland, Orlando, Chicago, Virginia, and Seattle. I drove to northern California twice, Phoenix and Vegas — while building the top of the Harting model the whole way in the car (I wasn’t driving πŸ˜‰ ).

Who knows what I’ll be building next year. I’m certainly excited. πŸ™‚

Hopefully you had a wonderful 2012 and welcome 2013!

I really like the Skeleton Kitty

And the Vampire Kitty

Not only has he dressed Hello Kitty up as Halloween Characters, but also as iconic McDonald’s characters too

These kitties are so cute you just want to hug them! Of course as they are LEGO, they would be a little sharp, but its worth it. πŸ˜€

Love Bunnies

LEGO builder Schfio of Hong Kong has created the most adorable pair of bunnies for the Year of the Rabbit.

They have such character you almost want to pick them up and hug them! But then of course, unlike real bunnies, they would be a little sharp. πŸ˜€

Schfio is no stranger to creating LEGO sculptures. The more I see of his, the more impressed I am with his skills.

He certainly has a distinctive style and I look forward to seeing what he creates in the future.

LEGO Batman hits the Happy Meal

September 13, 2008

The Caped Crusader has hit the Happy Meal!

McDonald’s has eight LEGO Happy Meal toys for the upcoming Batman Video game. They are not actual LEGO bricks, but they are pretty neat. The “Minifigures” are more like the Gentle Giant LEGO Star Wars figures. And they also have four vehicles with mini characters driving them.

I would have prefered actual LEGO. But at the same time I plan on getting at least some of them.
So check it out at your local McD’s and don’t forget that LEGO Batman is coming out on the 23rd. πŸ˜‰
