Walmart Iron Patriot Exclusive

May 7, 2013

So, have you seen Iron Man 3 yet? I just got a chance to catch it last night and it was just as fun as one and two.

One thing I was disappointed with **warning: slight spoiler** was that of the three Iron Man 3 LEGO sets, only the Malibu Mansion has anything to do with the movie. I realize that the sets are often designed while the movie is still in production, and perhaps there is a small chance that the other two sets may have been left on the Editing room floor, but considering the continuity of the movie, I really doubt that.

On that note, LEGO Marvel Super Heros the video game is coming out at the end of the year. And for this one Walmart, not Gamestop, has the exclusive figure — Iron Patriot.

Its a pretty sweet fig, although I still think that the helmets look a little on the big side.

Iron Patriot is available with the preorder of the game on PS3, XBox, or WiiU — all for just a hair under $50 each. Sadly it doesn’t look like it works for Nintendo DS or 3DS. 😦

The weird thing is that it says that the game will be available for shipment on Dec. 31st, everywhere else it says Oct. 31, which makes more sense. So we’ll see what the actual date is.

New Indiana Jones Case for Nintendo DS Lite

October 27, 2009

I mentioned on an earlier post that LEGO was coming out with a build-on LEGO Star Wars Nintendo DS Lite Case with printed tiles and it only makes sense that it wouldn’t be a one off product.

The new LEGO Indiana Jones DS Lite Case is just as cool with an equally awesome tile picture on the front. It looks like both cases will be sold wherever Nintendo DS accessories are available, although I did check Gamestop.com and I didn’t see either one available (at least not yet).

Both Toys R Us.com and StarWarsShop.com have the Star Wars Case available, it looks like Toys R Us is the only one selling the Indiana Jones one at the moment. For some reason its for “pre-order” at the Star Wars Shop, but “in stock” at Toys R Us.

My only problem with Toy R Us is that the cases cost $16.99 there instead of the $14.99 at the Star Wars Shop! 😯

Toy R Us is often more expensive than other toy retailers, a fact that is blatantly obvious if you do any sort of price comparison. However, if the cases are available at my local Toy R Us I just might have to make an exception for these (because when you factor in the shipping costs, it would be about the same) and I don’t even have a DS Lite! 😀

Bonus Keychain at Gamestop when you pre-order LEGO Rock Band

October 12, 2009

I know that I’ve been focusing mainly on new LEGO product and not mentioning any of the cool MOC (my own creations) built recently, but with the holiday season fast approaching LEGO is pulling out all the stops when it comes to retail sales.

I wanted to let everyone know that Gamestop is having a promotion if you pre-order LEGO Rock Band. I first saw it at the store and snapped this picture:
Gamestop LEGO Rock Band Promotion

I thought it was really cool especially when I saw that it said “Pre-order today and receive this keychain.” But then I saw the little asterisk at the end and did a little more digging online.

What it actually looks like is this:

Still cool, just not the same. And the whole “Backstage Pass” concept is more indicative of game. But at the same time I can see why LEGO would go with an actual LEGO keychain.

LEGO Rock Band retails for $49.99 USD for Playstation 3, Xbox 360, Nintendo Wii and it retails for $29.99 for the Nintendo DS. The game will be available November 10, 2009.

New LEGO Star Wars Case for Nintendo DS Lite

October 11, 2009

Who doesn’t love LEGO Star Wars and Nintendo DS Lite? Well with this latest DS case you don’t have to choose. 🙂

Although there have been other DS cases and stickers for both LEGO Star Wars and LEGO Indiana Jones this is the first time that the case actually had LEGO elements on it. And what’s even sweeter is the awesome tile mosaic of the classic Star Wars scene.

# Protective carrying case for Nintendo DS Lite has two buildable LEGO surfaces for extra fun!
# LEGO surfaces work with any LEGO blocks
# Play-Thru design: play games while the system is protected in the case

Available at StarWarsShop.com It retails for $14.99 UDS, ships worldwide (except Mexico, sorry for those of you South of the Boarder 😕 ) and is currently available for pre-order (product ships in November, just in time for Christmas).

Hopefully (fingers crossed) they are printed tiles and not some lame stickers that you have to put on. I’m not a fan of stickers versus actual printed LEGO elements.

Thanks Ace over at FBTB for pointing this out! 😀

LEGO Indiana Jones 2: The Adventure Continues

May 29, 2009

TT Games has announced LEGO Indiana Jones 2: The Adventure Continues.

LONDON, UK – 29th May, 2009 – LucasArts and TT Games today announced that LEGO® Indiana Jones™ 2: The Adventure Continues will whip onto Wii™, Nintendo DS™, PLAYSTATION®3 computer entertainment system, PSP® (PlayStation®Portable) system, Xbox 360®video game and entertainment system from Microsoft and Windows in the Fall of 2009.

LEGO Indiana Jones 2 presents a tongue-in-cheek take on all four cinematic adventures of pop culture’s most iconic archaeologist, including for the first time ever Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull and will give players the ability to create levels of their own!

“LucasArts and TT Games continue to set the bar for next-generation family entertainment with the LEGO Indiana Jones franchise,” said Darrell Rodriguez, president of LucasArts. “LEGO Indiana Jones 2 delivers something a little different for everyone. Parents will enjoy the humorous take on the classic moments from their favorite movies, and their kids have an opportunity to experience the most authentic LEGO experience by building their own fun levels brick by brick.”

“It has been a real joy to work with LucasArts on such an iconic character. Indiana Jones embodies the adventurous spirit that perfectly suits the LEGO world,” said Tom Stone, director at TT Games. “Indy also presents us with wonderful and memorable cinematic moments.”

While looking for info on Indy 2 I also found a trailer for the LEGO Rock Band game.

The ability to make your own levels on Indy 2 sounds like an interesting feature. My only complaint is no PS2 version! It seems Sony is determined to make me buy a PS3!!!! Darn marketers! 😛

LEGO Rock Band looks fun too. The minifigs playing instruments are just so darn cute! 😀
