Tricky Treats

October 31, 2011

I was looking for something fun and unique for this Halloween post. Of course it has to be LEGO related. That’s my main rule with this blog, not that I can’t break it if I want to. πŸ˜‰

But anyway, so I was looking on Flickr and found this

And it led me to the Sugar Swings blog and how they were made. Its similar to the chocolate peanut butter bricks I made a couple of years ago.

The non-decorated ones are almost as cool

And the final result is just plain tasty πŸ™‚

Happy Halloween every one and may you get LEGO and chocolate in your Trick or Treat bags. πŸ˜€

These kitties are so cute you just want to hug them! Of course as they are LEGO, they would be a little sharp, but its worth it. πŸ˜€

BrickCon, just around the corner

BrickCon 2011 T-shirt Design by BrickShirts

There are only a couple of days to go until the last US LEGO Con of the year will be under way. I know I’m excited! πŸ˜€

As I will once again be a vendor, I’ve created a lot of fun new items to sell. I’ve also got lots of new vinyl window sticker designs, some premiering for the first time and perfect for Halloween. πŸ˜‰

I have to say, my favorite is the new skeleton.

I will also be showing my Remembering 9/11 mosaic, along with an updated version of my Dreyer’s Truck that was originally designed when I worked at LEGOLAND California. There may be a couple more MOCs, but it all depends on if I get them done.

If any of you are going, stop by my booth and say hi! And for all those who can’t make it, I will do my best to cover it for you.

Now, back to packing . . . πŸ˜€

The 2010 Castle Advent Calendar Review β€” Day 10

December 10, 2010

Day 10

There is a skeleton in the dungeon of Legonous, but it has a secret — its fake! General Topsly came up with the idea of placing a skeleton there to scare would be wrong doers of what could happen. Usually one look at the smiling skeleton makes the criminals promise to never do bad ever again. πŸ˜€

Scary Monsters & Super Creeps

Scary Monsters & Super Creeps

Here is yet another excellent example of a Halloween MOC (My Own Creation) by Andrew Lee.

Side 2

I love the roof design and the run-down rickety feel of the whole building. Great job Andrew!

The Haunted House I wish I built

Haunted House 03

I’ve always wanted to make a truly stunning Haunted House but Tyler Clites did it first. There are so many cool features to this model and the lighting of the photo is excellent.

Haunted House 05
The close up details draw me in and I would love to see this model in person.

Haunted House 06
Even the back is amazing and I love the use of old and light grey for the siding. πŸ™‚

This is such a wonderful Halloween model and I bow down to Tyler’s building skills!

The Pirate Advent Calendar Review β€” Day 23

Pirate Advent Calendar Day 23

After stepping carefully around the skeleton, they go further into the cavern temple. At the end of the next corridor they find a shrine with a skull as its main feature. Curiously, the sconces are lighted. Are the descendants of the ancient ones still maintaining the shrine? Simon says he has seen no one on the island except himself in all the years he has been here. It is yet another mystery they may never find the answers to.
