November 15, 2011

You’ve seen me talk about the Giant Yoda that has be built countless times before, but there’s a new Yoda in town.

Santa Yoda

Well, San Francisco at least. 😀 If you live near by you too can help build him.

Who: San Francisco Bay Area Families are invited to Help LEGO® Master Builders Construct a 12-foot tall by 10-foot wide LEGO® Star Wars™ Santa Yoda out of LEGO bricks
What: Three-day community build where families will help LEGO® Master Builders to create a 12-foot tall by 10-foot wide LEGO® Star Wars™ Santa Yoda made entirely of LEGO® bricks to kick-off a countdown to the holidays found at http://www.legosantayoda.com. Children and parents will be invited to build a portion of Santa Yoda which LEGO® Master Builders will then add to the larger than life model.
When: Friday, November 18th to Sunday, November 20th, 10am-6pm daily (or until completed
Where: Union Square (next to the seasonal ice skating rink), San Francisco.

This is in conjunction with a holiday donation campaign benefiting Toys for Tots. For those of us that are too far away there will be a mini site legosantayoda.com (not yet up) covering the event.

As I learn more about this event I will let you know.

Creations for Charity 2010 - Marine Toys for Tots Teddy Bear

Although this was blogged on Brothers Brick it was too cute not to make a mention of it here. Albert U created this adorable Toys for Tots Teddy Bear for Nannan’s Creations for Charity donation drive.

The bricks alone are worth over $200 and uses many rare parts including the dark blue elements, the gold round 1×1 plates, and the tan cheese slopes. You can order this and many other one of a kind sculptures on Nannan’s Bricklink store. Its all for charity, so I’d highly recommend checking it out. 🙂

Announcing Creations for Charity 2010!

Well, Nannan of Brothers Brick has started it again. His second annual Creations for Charity is already underway.

From now until early December, you can buy a custom Lego creation made by Lego fans from around the world. All proceeds will be used to give Lego sets to underprivileged children during the holidays. This is an annual opportunity where Lego enthusiasts use their creative hobby to support a great cause. As buyers, you can own the original creations from a diverse array of builders and customizers, several of whom are among the best at what they do.

We accept creations for the fundraiser until December 1st. We also accept monetary donations at the store. For either form of donation over $50, you will receive an engraved Creations for Charity 2010 keychain assembled and glued by LEGO Certified Professional Sean Kenney and topped with a real gold-plated Lego brick from ChromeBricks. I sincerely hope you’ll take part in this event and help us set a new record. You make a lot of kids happy. Merry Christmas!
