Happy Thanksgiving!

November 21, 2012

Happy Thanksgiving!

This small vignette by Walter Benson just made me smile when I saw it.

Now granted no one wants a burnt turkey for T-day, but his parts solution for a burnt bird is great and the flames coming from the oven and the woman’s expression are perfect.

Hopefully we’ll (at least those of us in the States) all have a great Thanksgiving with no burnt food. 😉

Mega Mini Turkey

December 5, 2011

On my recent visit of the San Diego LEGO Store I was shown this wonderful turkey model created by one of the store employees with leftover parts from the November monthly mini build.

I have to say, the builder sure has talent. He not only was restricted by the types of parts he could use, he also did really well on sculpting the model as a whole.

He certainly has Master Model Builder potential! 😉

The day after T-day

November 24, 2010

I was sitting and thinking about Thanksgiving and I saw the in-store build from the LEGO store.
LEGO MMMB November '10 (Turkey Dinner)

Because of timing, I ended up having Thanksgiving dinner with my family today, so I was inspired to make an after T-day MOC (My Own Model)
The Day After T-day

Its just a tablescrape, but I think it came out pretty cute. Happy Turkey day everyone! 😉

LEGO Mousetrap plus a Contest

November 6, 2010

LEGO Mousetrap

I don’t normally post about the same person twos time in a row, but I’ll make an exception for Nannan. His LEGO Mousetrap was just too good to pass up. Especially what he wrote under the picture — “Works on AFOLs too.”

In a totally unrelated, and yet just as tempting to AFOL’s, additional post Nannan is also running a contest on the LEGO Flickr group — Build a turkey, win a gold one!

Golden turkey

Wouldn’t it be awesome to have a gold LEGO turkey? Now you can score this real-gold plated LEGO turkey, the only one ever made from ChromeBricks, and it’s awesome. Simply build a turkey in the next three weeks and post a picture here, just in time for Thanksgiving. Yum.

A specially gold chromed turkey by Chromebricks is the much coveted prize of this fun and interesting challenge. 🙂

The Pirate Advent Calendar Review — Day 17

Pirate Advent Calendar Day 17

Seeing the rats have once again invaded the supplies Lieutenant Tye Co loads his riffle and prepares to shoot the vermin one by one. There are blast marks all over the floors where Tye has tried and failed in the past. He figures if he just keeps trying he’ll get them one of these days.

Lieutenant Co also knows that Commander Block won’t be happy with the fact that there will be no turkey for lunch. Perhaps he would like a rat stew . . .

The Pirate Advent Calendar Review — Day 16

Pirate Advent Calendar Day 16

Back at Fort Mega a rat has gotten into the supply stores. He merrily drank all the apple juice and has now started into the last of Commander M. Block’s turkey leg that he was going to have for lunch.

In fact he is just one of a multitude of vermin that call the Fortress home. In their own small way they are fighting their own ratty war with the Commander and his men. They chew ropes, hide keys, spill gunpowder, and try to infest the men with the diseases they carry so that it is harder for Commander Block to destroy the pirate ships.

Why do they do this you ask? Well the rats know that their fellow brother and sister rats live on the pirate ships. They want to protect their families like any one else. 😉

Happy Thanksgiving!

November 28, 2008

I know it’s a little late, but Happy Thanksgiving! This is an official LEGO set of a turkey, although its not currently available, it has been in the past. I was actually looking for a really cool LEGO turkey to show you, but I just couldn’t seem to find one. The sad thing is that there is a really cool one at LEGOLAND, but I don’t have a picture of it, and I don’t think its anywhere on public display. It was made a few years ago for the first Master Model Builder search. I also thought about making a cool LEGO turkey, but I was a bit too lazy to do it. (Especially after the pumpkin pie!)

And for all of you Black Friday Shoppers out there, well there are quite a few LEGO sets on sale. Target has the Imperial Star Distroyer for $59.99 and Walmart has the King’s Castle Siege for $48.88. Toys R Us also has selected Bionicle, all Aqua Raiders sets, the Star Wars MTT, and the Mars Mission Drilling Unit on sale. Good luck, and happy shopping! 😉
