Bunny and Babies LEGO Set 41087

May 28, 2015

Okay, so I know I haven’t posted for a couple of months, traveling to Australia, Baltimore and Utah in the span of those same couple months, along with building 3 big commissions has taken up most of my time lately, so this blog languishes in inactivity. I do post regularly on my Facebook Page and on My Twitter feed, so follow both of those if you want more recent and up to date posts. I do plan on doing a proper post for my Australia trip, however since I am flying to Virginia tomorrow for Scouting for Bricks and then Nashville before I get a break for a couple weeks till BrickWorld Chicago, I still haven’t had time to process and go through all my pics yet.

So, in the interim I’m doing a quick fun set review.

It all started this morning when I looked on BrickSet and saw this set.

Just from the pictures I knew I had to get it.

Do you see what I see? Did you read the title? Bunny and

    babies!!!!

At $4.99 USD, its a fairly reasonably priced set. LEGO Friends replaced their pet polybags with these new mini set boxes, which I’m totally fine with. The other two in this series set are a baby horse an a puppy, but I passed on both of those in preference of this set for one very good reason — bunny babies!!!

To get a better idea of size, here’s the three sizes of bunny and as you can see the baby bunny is minifig scale.

The set itself is okay, a decent parts pack.

But of course when I saw the babies I didn’t want just two, I wanted a whole herd of bunnies! So I had to buy all the sets on the shelf πŸ˜€

Much better πŸ˜‰

Set overall — 5 stars!! The baby bunnies are beyond awesome!
Pros — Baby bunnies!!!!!!!
Cons — Not enough baby bunnies πŸ˜€

I really hope they make these in other colors.

Iridescent Flight

Iridescent Flight

Jaw dropping. That was my first thought after seeing this. Sean and Steph Mayo just keep getting better and better.

You have to look at the image in a larger format to really appreciate the size, scope and detail of this model.

Even the paints and brushes are cool

Somehow I’ve still not met Sean and Steph, even though I’ve been at two LEGO Cons (BrickWorld and BrickFair Virgina) with them. Even so, I did get to see some of their models up close and in person. Pictures just don’t do their models justice. I really hope I get to see this one in person in the future.

This takes mosaics and sculptures to a new level of cool.

2012 LEGO Model Review

2012 Model Review

Happy New Year Everyone! As I reflect on this past year of 2012 I decided to make a compilation of all the models I created this year. To be totally honest, this isn’t all of them. I made over 30 wedding cake toppers and literally hundreds of earrings, necklaces and key chains. But this gives you a pretty good idea.

This has been a whirlwind of a year. I went to ten Conventions this year — five LEGO Conventions, three Comic Conventions, the McDonald’s Worldwide Convention and Focus 12 Convention. I had six large project (even if one of them was microscale) — 3 ft x 3 ft Statoil logo mosaic, 4 ft long McDonald’s building, a giant Harting Connector (the big black thing on the left), a 2 1/2 ft microscale replica of a home, 4 ft x 2 ft John Hancock logo and 10 giant bricks, and a 5 ft x 5 ft Google Chrome logo. I flew to Portland, Orlando, Chicago, Virginia, and Seattle. I drove to northern California twice, Phoenix and Vegas — while building the top of the Harting model the whole way in the car (I wasn’t driving πŸ˜‰ ).

Who knows what I’ll be building next year. I’m certainly excited. πŸ™‚

Hopefully you had a wonderful 2012 and welcome 2013!

BrickFair here I come

August 2, 2011

Well here I go on to another LEGO Convention. It will be my first time to BrickFair and I look forward to meeting all the East Coast AFOLs (Adult Fans of LEGO) that I haven’t met yet and seeing all my friends. πŸ™‚

The full BrickFair runs from August 4th-7th, with public days on Saturday and Sunday.

Unfortunately I am not bringing any MOCs to display, but I will be bringing my products for sale and I will also be doing two presentations.

If you are going to BrickFair come and stop by, I’ll be sharing a table with BrickShirts once again so come on over and say hi. πŸ˜‰
